Poetry Scotland: the Magazine

Different Every Time

Poetry Scotland is a broadsheet magazine containing nothing but poetry. It's edited by Sally Evans and published in Callander, Scotland.

Subscriptions: You can subscribe to the broadsheet magazine for a mere 5 sterling a year post free anywhere in the UK.

To subscribe: send 5 note or 5 cheque (GB pounds), payable to Sally Evans, to Poetry Scotland at 91-93 Main Street, Callander FK17 8BQ, giving your address, and if you wish, your email, & say which issue you want to start from, eg current/next.

Submissions:

Poetry Scotland magazine is open to poets from within the UK postal area. The reason for this is postage and capacity. Poets should have a look at a copy of the magazine before they send. Please note also that we are more likely to take good beginner work from Scotland than from the rest of the UK, because Scottish writing is our main focus.

Poets living outwith the UK may, of course, have copies of the magazine sent to a permanent or family UK address.

From January 2013, submissions to the magazine can be sent to Sally Evans by email. Her email address is sallyevans35@gmail.com. You can of course continue to send submissions by post, with the usual stamped self-addressed envelope for returns, to:

Sally Evans
Editor, Poetry Scotland
91-93 Main Street
CALLANDER
FK17 8BQ

Please do not send submissions for the magazine to Colin Will.

Guidelines for submissions to Poetry Scotland, the printed broadsheet

Email poems to sallyevans35@gmail.com (subject Poetry Scotland poems.)

Poems should be unpublished and may be on any subject in any style. No more than 6 poems unless it is a sequence. Submissions only from the UK postal area please, for practical reasons. Response time will vary.

The Broadsheet gives emphasis to the Scottish poetry community and is more likely to take good beginners' work from Scotland than from England and Wales. Poetry Scotland chooses the poems on their own merits (and the needs of the broadsheet) and will be unimpressed by your writers' cv.

Poems in English, Gaelic, Scots, and on occasions Welsh or other languages will be considered.

If it is your first try and we do not know you, please include your full postal address and a statement that the poems are entirely your own work.

To subscribe (for one year), please send £5 note or cheque made out to Sally Evans, with your UK postal address, to Poetry Scotland, 91-93 Main Street, Callander, FK17 8BQ. For a free sample copy please send a stamped addressed A5 envelope (ordinary 2 nd class stamp)

Please note that the pages for back issues, reviews, and diehard books are over at Sally Evans' site,
