Newsgroups may already know about aapc (alt.arts.poetry.comments)
and rap (rec.arts.poems).
Those who don't have access to newsreaders can always access them through
Google Groups. These newsgroups
are great places to read and post poems and comments, and to get instant (and
unmoderated) feedback, but may not
be suitable for the thin-skinned. The aapc faq and an excellent collection
of resources tailored to suit the interests of UK
poets has been put together by Jim Sheard at AAPC
Site.
Rob Godfrey writes:
I'm in London and I run the only truly British orientated poetry discussion
board (as opposed to a message board)
on the Net...Burgundy
- a poetry discussion board - is a small, friendly place with plenty of humour.
The critique given is honest
but not vicious; and as well as some of the best poets on the Net, I also
have some well known artists contributing to Burgundy.
If interested take a look (click on 'Last Day' or 'Last Week' in the left
hand frame for the latest posts). There aren't many Brits who
take part in the main poetry boards, such as the Gaz, Erato and Sonnet Central,
so when I started-up Burgundy earlier this year
I only had a small core of poets whom I could invite. I'm looking to make
more British poets aware that a board like Burgundy exists.
Chris Hunt, Webmaster & Tragedian,
has an excellent site at McGonagall
