CHRISTMAS TAT

The presents that you sent me
In no way represent me.
The time has come to bid them all farewell.
I'm puzzled how to lose them,
The Oxfam shop refuse them.
If all else fails I'll burn the lot to hell.

Those active lords and ladies
Will be consigned to Hades.
The milkmaids very soon will get the sack.
Any drum or panpipe player
Gets posted to Malaya,
Some may even end up in Iraq.

The swans and geese grew frantic
And flew off to the Atlantic
When I threatened to remove them from the scene.
I do not like male jewellery,
Gold rings are pure tomfoolery,
In any case, they turned my fingers green.

Colly birds, hens and dove,
They all got the shove.
In point of fact I fed them to the cat.
With my last remaining cartridge
I shot the effing partridge,
Threw it in the bin and that was that.
