harbour sounds
the early boat mooring
lone gulls squawk and tumble
weary limbs at the winch
the hollow clatter of fish boxes
on a half empty floor
the workers on the pier
indistinct, drift language
cast up
out on the sound
the snap of sails at tack
the clean hiss
of the bow in water
and on the headland
the swish of brushes
on flagstone
the gorse blossoms yellow
the faintest sound
released in scent
